I.                ADMISSION – ELIGIBILITY FOR COURSES – REGULATIONS

Courses:

Mode of Application:

1)   Application for admission to the college should be made only in the prescribed form.

2)   Application form & prospectus shall be obtained from the college office by paying Rs. 200/- directly. If required by post, a DD may be drawn for Rs.200/- from any scheduled bank drawn in favour of “Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Physical Education” payable at “Tiruchendur” along with a self addressed envelope of 30 x 15 cm and stamp affixed to the value of Rs. 20/- and sent to the “The Principal, Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Physical Education, Tiruchendur - 628 215"

        Dr.Sivanthi Aditanar College of Physical Education was established during the academic year 1993-94. Aditanar Educational Institution, a registered society, administers this self financing Professional College of Physical Education. Dr.B.Sivanthi Adityan a multifaceted personality, was the Founder President of the College.  Presently Thiru.S.Balasubramania Adityan is the President of the College.

      Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Physical Education is situated at Tiruchendur to Tirunelveli highway and is about 3 Kilometer from Tiruchendur Bus Stand and Railway Station. The College Campus Covers an area of 12 acres and is fully residential.

       Besides the Administrative building, there are Class rooms, Library, Research block, Laboratories such as Exercise Physiology, Sports Psychology, Sports Biomechanics, Measurement and Sports Training, Educational Technology, Computer, Anatomy, Physiology & Health Education, Human Performance, Sports Medicine (Physiotherapy, Athletic Care & Rehabilitation),  Men’s hostel  are also housed within the campus. A multipurpose international standard Indoor stadium with wooden flooring with  lighting is located within the Campus.

          A two year Master of Physical Education Degree (M.P.Ed) course was introduced in 1993, one year Master of Philosophy(M. Phil) was started in 2001 and one year Bachelor of Physical Education degree (B.P.Ed) in 2003 with affiliation to Tamilnadu Physcial Education and Sports University, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. College has been approved as "Physical Education Research Centre" from the year 2012 by TNPES University. The College has excellent modern facilities with qualified and competent faculty members.  As per the guidelines of NCTE, the B.P.Ed. course has been made as two years course from the academic year 2015-16.

ADMISSION REGULATIONS

Intake, Eligibility and Admission Procedure for B.P.E.S

Intake

There shall be a basic unit of 50 (Fifty) students for each year.

Eligibility:

 a) Age: - Not completed 21 years as on 1st July. - For SC / ST 3 years  

     relaxation is given.

 b) Qualification: A pass in +2 in the 10+2 pattern.

 c) Represented the School in any Sport / Game.

 d) Medically fit without any deformity

Mode of Application:

The Application form should be accompanied by Xerox copies of the following.

1. 10th Mark Statement          

2. 12th Mark Statement

3. School representation in a Sport/Game

4. Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate

5. Community Certificate

6. Aadhar Card

7. Medical Fitness certificate from a Government Medical Officer in the  

    prescribed format.

8. A self – addressed envelope with Rs.10/- value postal stamp.

Selection Tests:

Admission shall be made on the basis of ranking for a total of 150 marks as detailed below:-

1. Qualifying Examination                                             : 20                                                  

2. Participation in games and sports                              : 25                    

3. Games skill test                                                         : 50                                                   

4. Track and Field skill test                                            : 50                                         

5. Bonus marks for possession of basic degree             

    in Physical Education(B.Sc., Physical Education,

    Physical Education (B.P.E) or Physical Education       

    and Sports (B.P.E.S) or Diploma in

Admission Procedure

Admission shall be made on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination (written test, fitness test, interview and percentage in qualifying examination) or any other selection process as per the policy of the State Government /Affiliating University.

ADMISSION REGULATIONS

Intake, Eligibility and Admission Procedure for B.P.Ed

Intake

There shall be a basic unit of 100 (One Hundred) students with two sections of 50 (Fifty) each.

Eligibility

a)    Age: Not completed 30 years as on 1^st July

For SC / ST not completed 33 years as on 1^st July

b)   Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 50% marks and having at least participation in the inter College/Inter Zonal/ District/School Competition in sports and games as recognized by the AIU/IOA/ SGFI/Govt. of India.

Or

c)    Bachelor’s degree in physical education with 45% of marks

Or

d)   Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 45% of marks and studied physical education as compulsory/elective subject

Or

e)    Bachelor’s degree with 45% of marks and having participated in National/Inter University/State Competitions or secured 1^st, 2^nd or 3^rd position Inter College/Inter-Zonal/District/School competition in sports and games as recognized by the AIU/IOA/SGFI/Govt. of India

Or

f)     Bachelor’s degree with participation in international competitions or secured 1^st, 2^nd, or 3^rd position in National/Inter-University competition in sports and games as recognized by respective federations/ AIU/IOA/SGFI/Govt. of India

Or

g)    Graduation with 45% marks and at least three years of teaching experience (for deputed in-service candidates i.e., trained physical education teachers/coaches)

The relaxation in the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination and in the reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government / State Government whichever is applicable.

ADMISSION REGULATIONS

Intake, Eligibility and Admission Procedure for M.P.Ed

Intake

There shall be a basic unit of 40 (Forty) students for each year.

Eligibility

a)    Not completed 35 years as on 1st July

          For SC / ST not completed 38 years as on 1st July

b)   Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) or equivalent with at least 50% of marks

Or

c)    The reservation in seats and relaxation in the qualifying marks for SC/ST/OBC and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government/State Government whichever is applicable

M. Phil - Physical Education

Choice Based Credit System (CBCS)

REGULATIONS

          The CBCS for the one year M. Phil Degree Programme will be implemented from the academic year 2008 - 09.

1. Eligibility for Admission

          A Candidate shall be admitted to the M. Phil degree in Physical Education if he / she produces satisfactory evidence that he / she has successfully completed Master's Degree in Physical Education (M. P. Ed) or its equalant Degree approved by the syndicate of the Tamilnadu Physical Education and Sports University, Chennai.

2. Course of Study

          The duration of M. Phil programme shall be two semesters (1 Year). A student should complete the M. Phil programme within three years after registration.

3. Semesters

                            An academic year is consisting of two semesters.

          In each semester, the courses are taught for 18 weeks with each week having 5 working days with a minimum of 4 contact hours per day.
