REGULATIONS
BACHELOR OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION (B.P.Ed)
Total Seats : 50
Eligibility:
- Graduate in Physical Education i.e. B.P.E. of three year duration with
40% marks
- Graduate, with at least
40% marks, having represented State/University
/District
Graduate with atleast
40% marks, who has secured 1st, 2nd or 3rd position in Inter-collegiate sports/games tournaments/possessing NCC ‘C’ certificate or passed basic course in adventure sports. (Or)
Graduate with atleast
40% marks and with one year training programme in sports science, sports management, sports coaching
, yoga, Olympic education, sports journalism, etc.
Admission shall be made on the basis of making for a total of 150 marks as detailed below:

Qualifying Examination: (Maximum 25 Marks)
The marks to be awarded for qualifying examination is to be calculated as under
: Marks obtained in part III at the degree level should be reduced to a maximum of 25.
For example, if a candidate has secured 400 marks out of 600 in part III at the Degree level, his marks for the Qualifying examination is 400/600x25=16.66.
Games and sports participation: (Maximum Marks: 20)
The norms for award of marks of the sports and games participation are furnished hereunder:

Games Skill Test: Maximum Marks:50
The candidate should choose only one of the games included in the All India Inter University Competition.
Track and Field Maximum Marks 50
In Track and Field, candidates will be tested in the following events:
100mts.
Shot-put
Long-Jump
College representation is compulsory for applicants (The games and sports that are included in the All India Inter-University Competitions only will be taken for eligibility)
MASTER OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION (M.P.Ed)
Total Seats : 30
Eligibility:
a) i) Candidates with B.P.Ed with at least 50% marks or B.P.E (3Years) with at least 50% marks are eligible for admission
ii) Admission shall be made on the basis of marks obtained in part III of B.P.Ed or B.P.E examination.
iii) There shall be reservation of seats for SC/ST/BC/MBC as per the rules of the State Government.
b) Admission shall be made on the basis of ranking for a total of 100 marks as detailed below

REGULATIONS
The CBCS for the one year M.
Phil Degree Programme will be
implemented from the academic
year 2008 - 09.
1.
Eligibility for Admission
A Candidate shall be admitted to
the M. Phil degree in Physical
Education if he / she produces
satisfactory evidence that he /
she has successfully completed
Master's Degree in Physical
Education (M. P. Ed) or its
equalant Degree approved by the
syndicate of the Tamilnadu
Physical Education and Sports
University, Chennai.
2.
Course of Study
The duration of M. Phil
programme shall be two semesters
(1 Year). A student should
complete the M. Phil programme
within three years after
registration.

An academic year is condisting
of two semesters.
